March Madness Beer Bracket

Folks love March Madness because nearly anyone and everyone has a shot at the title. Every year fans watch as their favorite college basketball teams battle it out for the National Championship. And, it is not always a contest of talent. It takes a combination of moxie, determination, and ability to make it to The Final Four. In honor of this annual tournament, we have put together our own Sweet Sixteen March Madness Beer Bracket for our draft brews. What are your favorites? Which ones will survive and advance and go all the way? While IPA’s dominate the bracket, there are a few underdogs and possible surprises. Download the beer bracket here.

The Beer

Angry Orchard Cider is gluten-free beverage offers bright, crisp apple flavors, like biting into a fresh apple. It offers a perfect balance of sweetness and bright acidity. The dryness of traditional apple cider making results in a complex and refreshing hard cider. ABV: 5%

Bold Rock IPA Cider is an interesting twist on traditional style ciders. This IPA cider blends tart fresh apples with notes of passion fruit and citrus. This hard cider has a floral aroma that pairs refreshingly with the apple finish. As always, gluten-free. ABV: 4.7%

Bell’s Roundhouse IPA has aromas of pineapple, peach, and citrus, which continue into a crisp, hoppy bitterness on the tongue. The presence of caramel specialty malts balances the hop intensity. Finishes with a smooth honey dry finish. ABV: 7.5%

Spaten Oktoberfest Märzen is an amber beer style developed for celebrating the original Oktoberfest over 200 years ago. It is a bodied beer with rich malt flavor, dark toffee notes. The hoppiness is paired with an underlying fruitiness. ABV: 5.8%

Flying Dog Bloodline Nitro IPA is brewed with blood orange peel and blood orange juice. It is the perfect balance of sweet and bitterness. ABV: 7%

Tröegs Nugget Nectar American Amber Ale is a perfect beer for hop lovers. This beer is further intensified with whole flower “nugget” hops, creating an explosion of citrus, resin, pine, white peppercorn, papaya, and grapefruit pith. ABV: 7.5%

Bell’s Hopslam Double IPA uses seven different types of hops. Generous malt and a dollop of honey result in a complex brew featuring grapefruit, stone fruit, and floral notes. ABV: 10%

New Belgium Fat Tire American Amber Ale is clear amber with sweet biscuity caramel malts, with subtle touches of fennel and green apple. A medium bodied beer with a light sweetness and clean finish. ABV: 5.2%

Bell Two Hearted IPA is brewed using 100% Centennial hop. This IPA features hop aromas ranging from pine to grapefruit. It is perfectly balanced with a malt backbone. ABV: 7%

Lagunitas American IPA is a coppery colored ale has a full, flowery hop aroma and a medium maltiness. It possesses a fruity-ester flavor and balanced bitterness. ABV: 6.2%

Blue Point Toasted Lager is an American Amber Lager, brewed using six different grains. It has a smooth finish and pairs well with any type of food. ABV: 5.5%

Sam Adam’s Hopscape American Wheat Beer is created with four types of hops. The crisp flavor presents bold notes of pine and grapefruit. All brewed to create a delicious white wheat brew. ABV: 5.5%

Jailbreak The Infinite Amber Ale offers a classic style with hints of rusted caramel. It has a slightly sweet malt with a semi-dry finish. ABV: 5%

Heavy Seas Tropicannon Citrus IPA American IPA is exploding with bright citrus aroma and flavor. It packs a blast of blood orange, grapefruit, mango and lemon flavor. ABV: 7.25%

Rogue Dead Guy Ale Helles Bock is an ale inspired by the German Maibock style brew. Dead Guy Ale has a deep honey color with a balanced malty aroma and a rich hearty flavor. ABV: 6.2%

Blue Moon Belgian White American Wheat Beer is brewed using Valencia orange peel for a subtle sweetness, plus an added touch of coriander to provide balance. A Wheat beer with a smooth, creamy finish. Finished with a slice of orange for a unique brew. ABV: 5.4%
