Brittland Estates – Running Fox & Stepne Manor

Newton White Mansion

This location is very rich in history. It was constructed in 1939 and is named after one of the owners, Captain Newton H. White, Jr., first commanding officer of the USS Enterprise.
Oliver’s Carriage House

Built in the early 1800s, Oliver’s Carriage House is a private estate featuring a magnificent home complete with barn and stables. Inside the home, you will find the original stone walls and exposed wood beams. Not to mention, a grand fireplace draws the eye and is the perfect backdrop for wedding photos. The property includes lovely gardens and a brick patio with the option to have a ceremony outdoors or inside.
The building dates back to 1811 and served as a barn and stable for a mansion. At that time the upper level was for hay storage and the lower part held carriages, horse stalls, and harness room. Kittamaqundi Community Church purchased the Carriage House in 1972 when it fell into ruin. They began renovating it and completed in 1977. The new floors, loft, added a second level, and finished stone fireplace made it well worth the effort.
